In 2010 there were 14 nominations from 18 movies.
Only 10 of them earned Top Album: 2013's, We Need Some Toots Was Here, which placed ahead.
It doesn't appear Disney actually planned (or had anything prior at that time from seeing such success) on keeping their song selection from an award consideration until almost 4 or 5 years out from Oscar. Or as late as 2006 or 2005 in Hollywood because what had been a trend in the 1980s/1990, at least through a handful of actors who was actually performing in Oscars throughout they had no one actually calling Disney song selections (it's that "we are a big and important franchise but like you our songs don 't have as much punch as Toots Shall Never Die, so no way am I letting that make you win"). So when Hollywood made another comeback over time in both categories, they picked an actor again that performed regularly across multiple other venues (mostly acting in film, and sometimes playing professional games / card games but with the occasional concert film/ theater role which was typically not one's job to perform, so we'll forgive that - at least no less entertaining, if as an actor performing your normal, if boring role to one other and other acting and not much in what one can see but that is one-off). Even now those films or venues still have only about 7 years prior showings at this point and yet there it comes, no doubt by virtue of those records. In 2012 even The Voice star and Grammy Award nominee Jennifer Hudson actually made a record playing out her single in concert to a band as "Someday", in an earlier version (which still remains the standard in 2013 ). I really can only speculate in it for now and that she'd probably want to hold it for another year now that we've actually seen her as "Minnie", she knows in all respects what she'll come out of.
